First things first: my Time Angel’s name is Miela (pronounced Mila, like Mila Kunis). I’ve had several readers contact me asking if her name is “Mi-Ella,” or “My-Ala.” Just wanted to clear that up!
I just completed writing my 3rd novel, The Dark Lady. Now it’s off to my editor, the copyright office, and getting its ISBN number. Such as exciting time!
This one took me almost a year to write…so much research! It is about Shakespeare and his seven “lost years” when no one knows where he was or what he was up to. I have interjected my “Time Angel” into those years and oh what a story they will create! So much fun to write, but it was also gut-wrenching, examining the intricate nuances of any relationship, especially when one member of the relationship knows the underlying challenges ahead of time. Here is a small sampling from book 3, scheduled to be available on December 15, 2015:
“…Instead, he decided to recite a few lines he had thought of a few days after they first met, as he watched her walking ahead of him with an injured back and scrapes on so many parts of her body:
“She walks in beauty, milady love, her skin glows with the blessings of the sun; her smile is like heaven opening up to bless us with its glory; her eyes are precious gems born of emeralds and her lips promise a taste of the most exquisite fruit, and milady love walks with me, not knowing I exist as a shadow in her glory.”
Miela turned to him, wondering who William had written those beautiful sentiments about. “That was absolutely beautiful, William, but I’ve never read it before. When did you write that?”
“I have not “written” it down yet. I made that up a few days after meeting you, walking behind you on our way to Broughton Castle.”
She tilted her head, observing this remarkable man. Words of beauty flowed through him; his mind created magnificent works of art with the use of words. “You composed that beautiful sonnet about me? That was what you thought just by watching me?”“Yes, milady. I do not believe you understand the magnificence of your own beauty, or the impact you have on mere men.”
“What I do not understand, is why you are so infatuated with me while I am carrying another man’s baby? It does not seem real!”
“I do not understand it myself, but since I saw you fall from the sky I have been mesmerized by you.”
“The way I see it, we are companions now, and you’re stuck with me. Until I have this baby, and I’m sure for some time beyond that, I will need your help to make my way in this new country and new time period. Is that okay with you?”
“It is certainly okaaa with me, my Miela. I enjoy your company and cannot think of any one I would rather spend my time with.”
There was silence between them for a short time, until Miela chose to “break the ice.” “What does an extremely pregnant woman wear to the famous Roman baths? Will people be naked down there?”
